There are 12 government medical colleges in Kerala with 1755 seats for MBBS courses and 20 private medical colleges with 2550 seats for MBBS courses. Kerala is an open state, candidates from all over India can be admitted to 15% seats in Private Medical Colleges.
Those who come in the Non-Karelite – II category. Before 2019, there was no quota of other states in the Private Medical Colleges. In 2019, the Supreme Court ordered admission to all India candidates in 15% of seats in Private Medical Colleges in Kerala.
Due to low fees, many candidates like to be admitted to this state before Karnataka state, but many candidates give priority to Karnataka state due to the good Medical College and education of Karnataka state.
