What’s the Real Difference?
- MCC Counselling is conducted at the national level for 15% AIQ seats in government colleges, 100% seats in Deemed, Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, and BSc Nursing (Central institutes).
- State Counselling is conducted separately by each state for their 85% government quota seats and 100% seats in private colleges in that state.
Both are equally important — and yes, you can apply for both (if you meet eligibility).

- You don’t need to choose one over the other. You can register for both MCC and State counselling (as long as you meet domicile or category criteria for the state).
- All weekends and holidays are working days. That means no delays — if a deadline says 6th August, it includes Sunday too.
