Expert Tips from Radical Education

  • Many students miss out because they only focus on their All India Rank. For state counselling, your category rank plays a huge role, especially in reserved seats.
  • Fill in a mix of colleges: Top-choice (dream) colleges, Realistic options based on past cut-offs, Safe options where your chances are higher.
  • Cut-offs change every year based on student preferences and ranks. Use them to plan, but be flexible — don’t rely on them blindly.
  • Once choices are locked, you can’t edit them. Double-check everything — college names, course preferences, and order of priority — before hitting that final lock.
  • From domicile certificates to NEET admit card and scorecard — missing even one paper during verification can cancel your seat. We’ve seen it happen.
  • Understand the fees, bond rules, and seat types (B-category, NRI, etc.) in private colleges. Always clarify before locking.

FAQs about Uttar Pradesh NEET UG 2025 Merit List and Seat Matrix

If your name isn’t on the UP state merit list, you won’t be eligible for UP counselling. But don’t lose hope — you can still explore All India Quota, deemed universities, or other state counselling processes where you're eligible.

The seat matrix tells you how many MBBS/BDS seats are available in each college under different categories. Use it to strategise your college preferences — look at seat distribution, compare colleges, and match it with your rank.

No, private colleges in UP also participate in the same state counselling conducted by DMET, UP. You’ll find both government and private colleges listed in the same portal, but be mindful of the fees and quota types while selecting them.
