Pragjyotishpur Medical College and Hospital is a newly established government medical college located in Guwahati, Assam. It was started in 2025 and is the second medical college in the city after GMCH. It is named after the ancient name of Guwahati, and the college aims to provide quality medical education and healthcare. It has two campuses
- Panbazar and
- Kalapahar has modern facilities, including over 500 hospital beds, ICUs, and operating theatres. The college admits 100 MBBS students every year.
- It helps reduce the patient load on GMCH and supports Assam’s goal of improving medical education and health services across the state.

Admission Process

- Upload the required documents and pay the registration fee.
- Apply separately via the MCC portal.
- Choose PMCH under the All India Quota during choice filling.
- Select Pragjyotishpur Medical College as a preferred option.
- Lock your choices before the deadline.
- It is based on NEET score, reservation, and seat availability; a seat is allotted.
- Check allotment on the counselling portal.
- Report to PMCH within the given time frame.
- Carry all original documents for verification.
- Pay admission fees and complete a medical checkup.
- After document verification and fee payment, admission is confirmed.
