What is MHT CET EXAM ?

MHT CET exam is a state level entrance examination which stands for Maharashtra Common Entrance Test. This examination is conducted to select the candidates for admissions to engineering and pharmacy courses at various colleges across Maharashtra. The exam is conducted every year by Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell.

The examination consists of three papers. Paper 1 is based on questions from Mathematics, Paper 2 consists of questions based on Physics and Chemistry and Paper 3 is based on the questions based on Biology. The candidates seeking admissions in Engineering courses must appear for Paper 1 and 2. Candidates seeking admissions in Pharmacy courses must appear for Paper 2 and 3.

The courses offered through MHT CET are the following :

  • BE/B.Tech.
  • B.Pharma
  • D. Pharma

Eligibility Criteria

The candidates applying for MHT CET must follow the following eligibility criteria :

For Maharashtra State Candidates

  • The candidate must have passed class 12th /appearing in class 12 in 2023
  • The Candidate must have Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with any one subject among Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational subject/ Computer Science/Information Technology/ Informatics Practices/ Agriculture/ Engineering Graphics/Business Studies in class 12.
  • The candidate must score at least 45% aggregate marks in class 12.
  • The candidates belonging from reserved categories must score at least 40% of aggregate marks in class 12%.

For Non-Maharashtra Candidates

The candidates who do not belong to Maharashtra can also appear for MHT CET . The candidate may or may not appear for MHT CET exam as their JEE Mains score will be preferred over MHT CET scores for admissions to BE/B.Tech. The reservation policy will not be applicable to the candidates not belonging Maharashtra.

OCI/PIO/NRI Candidates

The OCI/PIO/NRI candidates are exempted from appearing for MHT CET exam . They can apply for admissions that are based on class 12th marks. For such candidates the counseling is held separately after the MHT CET .

Registration Fee and Documents Required

Fee

For the candidates belonging from general category the registration fee is 800Rs. whereas for the candidates belonging from reserved categories such as SC,ST and OBC will have to pay 600Rs. registration fee. The fee can be paid through online mode of payment using debit card, credit card , net banking or UPI.

  • class 10th marksheet
  • class 12th marksheet
  • Aadhar card
  • category certificate (if applicable)
  • Domicile certifictae
  • Scanned images of photograph and signature
