MBBS refers to Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, which is said to be a primary degree provided by medical schools and allows permission to start a medical practice.  Duration of the course 

The duration of the MBBS course is five and a half years, including an internship.

Eligibility Criteria For MBBS 

To appear for the MBBS examination:

• The candidates should have to score at least 50% in their 10+2 papers. 
• For the reserved category candidates, they should have at least 40% marks in their qualifying exam to pursue MBBS.
• The students who come from the science stream with biology, physics, and chemistry as subject combinations are permitted to study MBBS.
• NEET qualifying is mandatory for all the candidates.

NEET is the competitive exam for the candidates to set up their medical career in the country after completing their MBBS course. To start their medical journey from a very recognized university, the candidates should have the NEET exam clearance certificate.

Course Structure For MBBS 

The MBBS curriculum is divided into semesters or years and covers a wide range of theoretical and practical subjects.

• Physiology is the study to understand how the human body systems work.

• Para-clinical Phase for Middle Years:
• Pathology, which means examination of tissues and organs to diagnose diseases.
• Forensic Medicine & Toxicology which covers Legal aspects of medicine and the effects of poisons.
• Community Medicine included Public health principles and preventive medicine strategies.

Clinical Phase For Later Years:

• Diagnosis and treatment of adult medical conditions.
• Principles and practice of surgical procedures.
• Pediatrics:Care of infants, children, and adolescents.
• Obstetrics and Gynecology which covers pregnancy, childbirth, and women’s health issues.
• Mental health and its treatment
