The Assam Directorate of Medical Education (DME Assam) manages medical training and education within the state. Counseling Procedure
How to take admission for the state quota?
After the NEET 2024 results, the prospectus for MBBS/BDS admissions will be released by the Directorate of Medical Education Assam, and from there the application form has to be filled out online. In this, only the students from Assam are eligible. Directorate of Medical Education Assam gives admission by conducting first-round, second-round, and mop-up round counseling.
First round of counseling
The first round of seat allotment is conducted in online mode. After the registration according to the given schedule, the list of eligible candidates will be released. After that, the candidates have to fill in their preferred choices. According to the merit and choices filled by candidates, the seats will be allotted in the first round, and a list of allotted candidates will be released on the website. After the seat allotment, the candidate has to report to the allotted college along with all the original documents.
Second Round of counseling
The second round of counseling is also conducted in online mode. In this new registration, the registrations will be opened again, candidates who had not registered in the first round can register in this round. round. After registration, the merit list will be issued again for the second round, after that, the choice has to be filled. The list of allotted candidates as per the schedule will be published on the website. After the seat allotment, the candidate has to report to the allotted college along with all the original documents.
Mop up round of counseling
Mop up round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the first and second rounds of counseling. This round of counseling is conducted in an offline mode. Candidates can also participate in this round for the upgrade. Counseling fees of Rs. 1000/- will have to be paid.
