About
The admission committee for professional undergraduate medical educational courses in Gujarat was established in 2008 under the Gujarat Professional Educational Medical Colleges or Institution (regulation of Admission and fixation of fees) Act,2007.
This act was passed to make special provisions for the regulation of admissions in professional medical educational courses in the state and the fixation of fees in such colleges or institutions and for matters connected therewith. This committee regulated the admission of professional medical/dental/ayurveda/homeopathy/naturopathy degree courses.
Eligibility criteria
- Candidates must have passed the 12th class from CBSE/ ICSE/ Gujarat or another recognized board of education with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
- Candidates must have cleared NEET 2024 to appear for Gujarat MBBS Admission. As per the below-given percentage criteria:
- Unreserved or general category candidates must have an aggregate score of 50% in class 12 boards.
- 40% aggregate score is the minimum requirement for reserved category students, including physically disabled students belonging to the reserved background.
- Physically disabled students from unserved categories will need a minimum aggregate of 45%.
- Candidates seeking participation in Gujarat MBBS admission need not pass class 10 from the state, according to the interim order issued by the Gujarat High Court.
- Candidates just need to possess a Gujarat domicile to participate or must fulfill the following criteria:
- Candidates who have passed their 10+2 from a school or institute in Gujarat will also be eligible for admission under the state quota even if they do not possess a domicile.
- Candidates who have completed 10+2 from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) based outside the state of Gujarat are also eligible, provided they have completed education class 8 from any of the JNVs in Gujarat.
- The candidate must be at least 17 years of age.
- A ‘No Objection Certificate’ issued by the current institute will also need to be submitted to the Admission Committee in such cases and candidates can withdraw their documents to change course and institute through counseling.
- Indian citizens, OCIs, and NRIs can apply for Gujarat MBBS Admission 2024 based on NEET UG 2024 scores.
- NRI candidates applying for admission will have to provide a Provisional Eligibility Certificate from the respective university within one month of securing admission. Admission of NRI candidates will be done under management or NRI quota.
- Candidates whose parents are not Indian citizens but are of Indian origin will have to provide submission proof to ACPMEC before counseling to secure admission to Gujarat medical colleges. These candidates will also have to provide a certificate to prove that they have acquired Indian citizenship by the end of July.

Counseling procedure
How do you take admission for the state quota?
After the results of NEET 2024, the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (ACPMEC) will issue the prospectus for MBBS/BDS admission.
The candidate must fill out the online registration form available on the official website which is https://medadmgujarat.org/ug/home.aspx and they have to pay a non-refundable payment of Rs.200 through an online mode of payment to purchase the PIN.
Other than this, the candidate can purchase a PIN by paying fees at the post office and bank in Gujarat state. To get admission in Gujarat candidates from Gujarat or students who have passed classes 10 and 12 from any school in Gujarat state, whether from Gujarat Board or CBSE are eligible. While filling out the application form, prior appointment will have to be taken for document verification and document verification will have to be done at the Help Center. The candidate must take the Registration Acknowledgment Slip from the Nodal officer at the Help Center.
After that, the provisional merit list will be published by the counseling authority and later the choice will have to be filled by the candidate on the portal. The choice will be automatically locked on the last date. In this, admission is given by ACPMEC by conducting first-round, second-round counseling online and mop-up round counseling offline.
Note: The registration can only be done in the first round.
First Round of Counseling
The first round of counseling will be conducted in an online mode, in which seat allotment will be conducted to fill the vacant seats of all Government/Private Colleges of state quota as per provisional merit list, if a candidate has been allotted a seat in the first round of counseling then allotment letter and fees challan may be download by logging on the portal. The tuition fees have to be paid on the official website of ACPUGMEC.
If the candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotted to them in the first round they can get it upgraded in the next rounds of counseling. If no seat has been allotted to the candidate in the first round they have to wait for the next rounds. If the candidate wants to cancel the admission after submitting the documents at the help center, they can do so, and they will be eligible for further rounds. The first round is a free exit round.
Second Round of Counseling
The second round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the first round of counseling. This round will also be conducted online. In this round, the seats of the first round can be upgraded. If the candidate’s seat gets upgraded in this round then they will have to report to the help center.
If the candidate has joined the seat in the second round of MCC then they cannot participate in the second round. If no seat has been allotted to the candidate in this round, they have to wait for the mop-up round. To participate in the second round, a fresh choice has to be filled on the portal as per the schedule.
Mop Up round of Counseling
This round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the second round of counseling. This round is conducted in offline mode. All those candidates whose names were on the provisional merit list are eligible for this round. To participate in the mop-up round, candidates have to log in to the portal, give online consent, and appear on the given schedule.
All the candidates who had joined the seats in the first and second rounds of counseling are eligible to get their seats upgraded in this round. The candidates who did not get any seats allotted in any of the rounds are also eligible for this round.

Ans. No, you can not apply for a government/management quota. You can apply for the NRI quota only if you are eligible for the NRI quota as per guidelines. If you are passed 10th and/12th from outside Gujarat but within India, you can apply for 15%AIQ seats of BAMS/ BHMS courses of Self Financed Ayurveda/Homoeopathy Colleges.

Q5 Who can apply for admission to the NRI quota?
Ans. Candidate should be a Non-resident Indian or a child or ward of a Non-resident Indian and Completed his 12th from a school situated within or outside India. Candidates should appear in the NEET-UG entrance examination of the respective year of admission and should qualify as per criteria laid down by the competent authority.
