This medical training institute was established in 1984 on a 43-acre campus. It was affiliated with the University of Mysore from 1984 to 1995 and later allied with the Rajiv Gandhi Medical College, Bangalore, until 2008.
JSS Medical College became a part of JSS College of Science and Research effective from 28th May 2008 under Section 3 of the UGC Act.
