Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University (MPMSU), Jabalpur is a state university established in 2011 by the Government of Madhya Pradesh.MPMSU is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC)and the Medical Council of India (MCI). It is the governing body for all the Dental, Nursing, Medicine, Paramedical, Homeopathic, Ayurvedic, Unani and Yoga colleges in Madhya Pradesh. Admission Process

The admission process for Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) in Madhya Pradesh is as follows:

1. Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • Age: The candidate must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the admission year. The upper age limit is typically 25 years, with a relaxation of 5 years for reserved category candidates.
  • Academic Qualifications:
    • The candidate should have passed the 12th grade with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and

    • The admission process for MBBS/BDS courses in Government Medical Colleges in Madhya Pradesh is through the NEET UG (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test).
    • Candidates must appear for the NEET UG exam, which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
    • Based on the NEET UG results, a merit list is prepared for admission.
    • Counseling Process
    • State Counseling: After the NEET UG results are announced, the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh conducts the state-level counseling process.
    • Registration: Candidates need to register online for the Madhya Pradesh NEET counseling through the official website of DME Madhya Pradesh.
    • Choice Filling: During registration, candidates can fill in their preferred colleges and courses.
    • Document Verification: Candidates will be required to verify their documents, including:Seat Allotment: Based on the merit list, category, and available seats, the seats will be allocated. The seat allotment is done in multiple rounds (usually 2–3 rounds).
    • Admission Confirmation: Once a seat is allocated, candidates need to report to the respective GMCs for document verification and payment of fees.
    • 4. Fee Payment
    • After the seat is allotted, candidates are required to pay the tuition fee for the medical college. The fee varies depending on the college and the type of seat (government or management quota).
    • 5. Final Admission
    • After document verification, fee payment, and seat confirmation, the candidate will be admitted to the medical college and can begin their MBBS course.
