Introduction 

The Government Medical College in Jaisalmer, established under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, is a new medical college in Rajasthan, India, designed to start offering more than 100 MBBS seats from the 2025–26 academic session. Construction of the college, its hospital, and student hostels is complete, with the facility meeting National Medical Commission (NMC) norms. This project is part of the state’s growing network of medical colleges to expand access to medical education in the region

MBBS4½ years + 1 year Internship 50 Admission via NEET‑UG; affiliated with Rajasthan University of Health Sciences; approved by NMC 

Eligibility criteria 

  • Must be an Indian citizen. 
  • Must have successfully passed your Class 12 examination.
  • Candidate’s 12th-grade subjects must include Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English
  • You must appear for and qualify for the NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate) exam.
  • To apply for the 85% state quota seats, you must be a resident of Rajasthan.
  • After qualifying for NEET-UG, you must register for the state-level counselling process conducted by the Rajasthan government.

Admission Process 

  • First, candidates must register for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG). 
  • They must appear for the exam and secure the required qualifying marks. 
  • Candidates who qualify for NEET UG need to register on the official counselling portal for Rajasthan State Quota admissions. 
  • Candidates opting for the All India Quota (AIQ) will register separately on the MCC website for their counselling process. 
  • During the counselling process, candidates will be able to select their preferred medical colleges from the list of available options. 
  • Candidates are advised to lock their choices to finalize their selections. 
  • Seats are allotted based on the NEET rank, the candidate’s category, and the choices filled during counselling. 
  • A seat is allotted to Zero Government Medical College.
