ESIC Medical College, Ludhiana, is a new government medical college established by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), a statutory body under India’s Ministry of Labour & Employment. Located in Ludhiana, the city with the largest concentration of industries in Punjab, it serves the large population of ESIC beneficiaries in the region. The college, which is slated to begin admissions for the 2025-26 academic year, will operate with a modest 50 MBBS seats and will be supported by an integrated 500-bedded hospital and government-arranged faculty.

Eligibility criteria 

  • Must have cleared the NEET-UG exam, meeting the minimum percentile requirements.
  • Must passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • Minimum age: 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year.
  • Maximum age for General category: typically up to 25 years
  • The parent must be registered under the ESI scheme as of September 30, 2024.
  • Must possess a valid “Ward of IP” certificate.

Admission Process 

  • Take and qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) to be eligible for admission. 
  • Apply for and obtain the Annexure-3A or 3B certificate, which proves your status as a “Ward of Insured Person,” from the local ESIC office. 
  • Register the details on the Medical Counselling Committee website for the All India Quota counseling process. 
  • During counseling, choose ESIC Medical College, Ludhiana, according to the preference list based on your NEET-UG score and rank. 
  • After getting  a seat, candidates must visit the college premises to complete the admission formalities.
  • Submit all original documents and pay the required fees.
