Reservation policy
The Government of Goa has implemented the reservation for candidates who belong to the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) in the admissions to the professional degree and diploma programs. The reservation policy is applicable to candidates who are not covered under the SC, ST, or OBC categories and whose annual family income is less than Rs. 8,00,000 lakhs, subject to other eligibility conditions.
If any student wishes to claim admission under the EWS category, then the candidate must submit a valid income and asset certificate issued by the concerned authority. The seats under the EWS quota will be allocated to the eligible candidates from the general category (not availing SC/ST/OBC reservation) based on merit. The number of seats for the EWS category will depend on the approvals from the concerned authorities like UGC, AICTE, MCI, or DCI and will be declared during the admission rounds.

Admission Process
To get admission in the state for the MBBS course, the candidates must follow the following steps:
Appear for NEET UG exam – The initial step to be eligible to take part in Goa MBBS/ BDS counseling, the candidate must appear for the NEET UG exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) .
Register on DTE Goa’s website: After the declaration of NEET UG results, the candidates must fill out the DTE Goa registration form for the medical course.
Documents Upload: Once the registration is complete, the candidate must upload all the required documents in the desired format.
Merit List Published: After the successful registration process, the DTE Goa will release a provisional merit list based on the NEET rank of the candidates.
Counseling rounds: After the release of the merit list, the candidate must enroll for the counseling rounds for the MBBS/BDS seat allocation.
Seat allotment and reporting: Once the candidate gets the seat allocated, they must accept the seat, pay the required fees, and report to the respective institution for the further documentation.

- A candidate must have completed a minimum age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the academic year for admission.
- He/ She must have passed the 12th exam or equivalent of the Goa Board or any other recognized board.
- Candidates must have secured at least 50% marks in aggregate of subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Biology taken together.
- There will be a relaxation of 5% in aggregate for the reserved category.
- Candidates must also qualify NEET UG exam for the academic year for admission.
