UPES, commonly known as the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies Dehradun, was founded in 2003 under the UPES Act by the Uttarakhand State Legislature. Recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), UPES holds an ‘A’ Grade accreditation from NAAC. The university has two campuses in Dehradun: UPES Bidholi and UPES Kandoli.
