The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, Veterinary, and other medical courses in India. It is the only entrance test for undergraduate medical programs in both government and private institutions, including AIIMS and JIPMER.

OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer) refers to the category of candidates listed under the Central Government’s classification of Other Backward Classes. Those who belong to this category, as per the official list provided by the National Commission for Backward Classes (NCBC), can select OBC-NCL in the category section of the application form. The official list is available at http://www.ncbc.nic.in/.

Information Bulletin Neet (UG)-2025

  1. Candidates can apply for NEET (UG) – 2025 only through the online mode on the official website: https://neet.nta.nic.in/.
  2. The application form must be submitted online through the NTA website, and submissions through any other mode will not be accepted.
  3. Each candidate is allowed to submit only one application.
  4. It is important to carefully follow the instructions provided in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.
  5. Candidates must provide their own or their parent’s/guardian’s email ID and mobile number in the application form, as all official communication from NTA will be sent via email or SMS to the registered details. NTA will not be responsible for any issues caused by incorrect contact information.
  6. Instructions for filling Online Application Form:
  • Download the Information Bulletin and a sample Application Form.
  • Go through them carefully to confirm your eligibility before applying.

Follow the steps to Apply Online:

  • Step 1: Registration Form:
    • Begin by registering for the application form. A system-generated Application Number will be assigned.
    • Enter the required personal details carefully.
    • Create a password, select a security question, and provide an answer (in lowercase).
    • Once the initial details are submitted, your Application Number will be generated. This number is essential for completing the remaining steps and for any future reference or communication.
    • For future logins, you can directly access your application using the Application Number and Password you created.
  • Step 2: Application Form:
    • Candidates can log in using their system-generated Application Number and the Password they created to complete the application form. This includes entering detailed personal information, selecting the exam language and preferred exam cities, providing educational qualification details, and uploading necessary images and documents (if required).
    • Candidates must upload scanned copies of their recent passport-size photograph (taken after January 1, 2025), signature, and fingerprint impressions of both hands, including thumbs. Additionally, they need to submit a Citizenship Certificate (if applicable), a Social Category Certificate or proof of application for the same, and their Class X Marksheet and Passing Certificate. If the marks are in CGPA/Grades, an equivalency certificate must be provided, converting them into a percentage and clearly indicating the date of birth (DOB). Candidates with disabilities must also upload their PwBD/PwD Certificate, wherever applicable.
    • The recent passport-size photograph must be in color, with 80% of the face visible (without a mask), including ears, against a white background.
    • All uploaded images must be in PDF/JPG/JPEG format and should be clearly legible.
    • File size requirements for scanned documents:
      • Passport-size photograph: 10 kb to 200 kb
      • Postcard-size photograph: 10 kb to 200 kb
      • Left & Right hand fingerprints and thumb impressions: 10 kb to 200 kb
      • Signature: 10 kb to 50 kb
      • Category Certificate (if applicable): 50 kb to 300 kb

Candidates must upload their own recent (taken on or after January 1, 2025) photograph, signature, fingerprints (both hands including thumbs), and required certificates in the correct format. Any attempt to upload someone else’s details or tamper with official documents such as the Admit Card, Result, or Scorecard will be considered an Unfair Means (UFM) Practice, leading to strict action as per the Information Bulletin guidelines.

  • Step 3: Fee Payment:
    • After completing Step 1 (Registration) and Step 2 (Filling the Application Form), candidates must pay the required examination fee online using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI. Additional processing charges and GST will be applied as per the respective bank or payment gateway.
    • A Confirmation Page will be generated only after successful payment. If the Confirmation Page is not generated, candidates should contact the concerned bank or payment gateway using the helpline number or email provided in the Information Bulletin to verify the payment status or request a refund for any duplicate transactions.
  • After successfully paying the application fee, candidates should download, save, and print a copy of the Confirmation Page for future reference. This page will only be available once the payment is successfully processed.
  • Candidates can complete all three steps (Registration, Form Submission, and Fee Payment) either together or at different times. However, the application will be considered successfully submitted, and the candidate’s candidature will be confirmed only after the prescribed application fee is successfully received.

7. Candidates must carefully review and ensure that all the information entered in their online application form is accurate.

8.They should also verify that they have provided the correct email address and mobile number. During registration, candidates must enter the OTP received on their registered mobile number, and before making the payment, they need to verify another OTP sent to their registered email address.

9. A copy of the Confirmation Page, Scanned OMR, and NEET (UG) 2025 Scorecard will be sent to both the candidate’s and their Parent/Guardian’s registered email addresses as mentioned in the application form.

10. Once the Confirmation Page is generated, details such as Candidate’s Name, Contact Information, Address, Parent/Guardian Details, Category, PwBD/PwD Status, Educational Qualifications, Date of Birth, Exam City Preferences, and Gender will be considered final and cannot be changed under any circumstances. NTA will not accept any requests for modifications in these details after submission.

11. Once the application process is complete, NTA does not edit, modify, or alter any information provided by candidates under any circumstances. Requests for changes will not be accepted after submission. Therefore, candidates should carefully review and enter accurate details in the application form to avoid any issues.

12. NTA will not be responsible for any consequences resulting from incorrect information provided by the candidate in their online application form.

13. Candidates must ensure that the email address and mobile number provided in their online application form are their own, as all important communication and updates from NTA will be sent only to the registered email and mobile number via email or SMS. NTA will not be responsible for any miscommunication or lack of communication due to incorrect contact details or if the candidate provides someone else’s information instead of their own. To stay updated, candidates should regularly check their emails and visit the NTA website for the latest notifications.

14. Candidates must also appear for the exam at their own expense at the designated examination center, as mentioned on their Admit Card, which will be issued by NTA through its official website.

NOTE :

  • If Step 3 (Payment Process) is not completed, the Online Application Form will remain incomplete and will be rejected. No further communication regarding such cases will be entertained.
  • The entire NEET (UG) 2025 application process is conducted online, including uploading documents, fee payment, and generation of the Confirmation Page and Admit Card. Candidates do not need to send any physical documents to NTA via Post, Fax, WhatsApp, Email, or in person.
  • NTA provides an additional platform through UMANG and DigiLocker to help candidates download important documents such as the Confirmation Page, Admit Card, and Scorecard. Instructions on this will be shared later. Candidates should regularly check their email and visit the NTA website for updates.
  • The Government of India and NTA may use the data provided by candidates for internal purposes like research, training, analysis, and other permissible activities.
  • Candidates must fill only one application form and carefully enter their details, especially their mobile number and email address. It is recommended to use their own contact details or those of their parents/guardians, ensuring they have regular access to these for receiving important updates.

15. Any request to change the Question Paper Medium, Examination Centre, Date, and Time mentioned on the Admit Card will not be considered under any circumstances.

16. Candidates are advised to take 6-8 passport-size coloured photographs with a white background. These photographs will be required for uploading on the Online Application Form, examination, and Counselling/Admission processes to ensure consistency across all documents related to NEET (UG) – 2025.

18. The information provided by candidates regarding their state is for reference only and does not confirm domicile status. This must be reaffirmed by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) of the respective State.

19. Candidates are advised to fill only one Application Form and exercise utmost care while entering their mobile number and e-mail address.Candidates must use only one mobile number and e-mail address that they have access to.

20. It is mandatory to provide the Mobile Number and E-mail ID of a Parent or Guardian while submitting the online Application Form for NEET (UG) – 2025, as a copy of the Confirmation Page and Final Score Card will also be sent to them.

NOTE :

  • Candidates are strongly advised to retain their Confirmation Page, Admit Card, and Score Card of NEET (UG) – 2025 as these documents will not be available after 31st October 2025 (as per the weeding-out policy).
  • All candidates must ensure that the details entered in their online Application Form (such as name, parent’s name, gender, date of birth, category, PwBD/PwD status, contact details, photographs, fingerprints, signature, choice of exam cities, etc.) are accurate and belong to them.
    • Candidates should be extremely careful while filling out their application form, as NTA will not allow any modifications to the entered details or uploaded images at any stage.
    • No requests for changes will be accepted via Post, Fax, WhatsApp, Email, or In-person submissions.
    • Once the Confirmation Page is generated, all details will be considered final.
  • Candidates are not permitted to bring the following items into the Examination Hall/Room:
    • Stationery items (Instruments, Geometry box, Pencil box, Paper, Textbooks, or written materials)
    • Personal belongings (Handbag, Purse, Eatables, Water bottle)
    • Electronic devices (Mobile Phone, Earphone, Microphone, Pager, Calculator, DocuPen, Slide Rules, Log Tables, Camera, Tape Recorder, Electronic Watches with a calculator feature, or any other metallic/electronic gadget).
  • If, at any point, it is discovered that a candidate has used or uploaded someone else’s photograph, signature, or certificate(s) in their Application Form or Admit Card, or has tampered with their Admit Card, Result, or Scorecard, such actions will be classified as Unfair Means (UFM) Practices, and strict measures will be taken as per the Information Bulletin on UFM Practices.

Important Points To Note

  • No corrections will be allowed at any stage after registration.
  • Fill the Application Form carefully. You can review and modify the details before submitting each section. Double-check all information before clicking the ‘SUBMIT’ button.
  • Follow the guidelines for uploading photographs, signatures, fingerprints (Left and Right hand), thumb impressions, and all required certificates to ensure accuracy.
  • Verify your Mobile Number and Email ID through OTP, as this is a crucial step in the application process.
  • Select your preferred Question Paper Medium carefully, as changes will not be allowed later.
