Situated in Rajgir, Bihar, Nalanda University was founded in 2010 through an Act enacted by the Indian Parliament. This esteemed institution is a postgraduate, research-focused international university backed by the nations of the East Asia Summit. Nalanda University provides postgraduate, doctoral, diploma, and certification programs across five schools and two educational centers, covering fields such as Management, Historical Sciences, and Languages, among others.

At the postgraduate level, it offers two-year programs including MSc, MA, and MBA. Furthermore, Nalanda University presents a four-year PhD program available in both full-time and part-time formats. It holds approval from the UGC. In 2021, the university was honored with two accolades: the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) Quality Research Award and the Green Champion Award from the Ministry of Education for the year 2021-22.

Review

• Since Nalanda University has just been inaugurated, the current placement prospects for the MA/M.Sc. master’s program aren’t particularly promising. However, it has been noted that the MBA department boasts impressive placement rates due to the college’s global connections. My International Relations course may not be specifically career-focused, but the university is actively reaching out to various international think tanks for potential internship placements.
• The facilities are truly exceptional and first-rate. One can be mesmerized by the enchanting views of the hills from the open campus, and sitting by the lake offers a serene moment of tranquility. Wi-Fi is available in most areas. The auditorium, library, and laboratories are also impressive. The main library is currently undergoing construction. As for the accommodation and dining, they are quite satisfactory, featuring air conditioning, a bed with a mattress, and furniture from Godrej Interio. The sports room and classrooms are enticing spaces that make studying here appealing.
