About

The directorate of medical education, in Tripura was established in 2011 it works under the jurisdiction of the government of Tripura. 

This Directorate deals with matters relating to Medical Education, like Medical Colleges, Regional Pharmacy Colleges, Paramedical Education, Nursing Institutes under Government and Private sector (PPP Models), Nursing Education, etc.

The combined counseling for admission in MBBS, BDS, and PG Seats of State Quota and different Paramedical Courses, GNM, and ANM are conducted by this Directorate.

How to take admission?

The Directorate of Medical Education Tripura will issue the prospectus and schedule for MBBS and BDS admission. Its website is https://dme.tripura.gov.in/ and the online application form is to be filled at https://mcc.tripura.gov.in/. Registration Fees will be UR Category – 1,800/-, EWS/OBC – 1,500/- and SC/ST/PWD/Transgender – 1,000/-. Through this, admission is given by conducting first-round counseling online, second-round counseling online, and mop-up-round counseling offline. Registration Fees will be UR Category – 1800/-, EWS/OBC – 1500/-, and SC/ST/PWD/Transgender – 1000/-.

First Round of counseling 

The first round of seat allotment will be online by DME Tripura. If a candidate has been allotted a seat in the first round then he/she has to take admission to the allotted seat. If he/she does not want to be admitted to the allotted seat in the first round, then there is no problem. In this condition, he/she will be eligible for the Second round and Mop-up round because the first round is a free exit. After the seat allotment, you have to go to the DME Tripura office, take an allotment letter from there and then take admission to the alloted College. If there is not a lot, will be eligible for a second round and Mop-up round.

Second Round of counseling 

In 2019, the registration was not opened again in the second round. But in 2020 and 2021 the fresh registration was reopened in the second round. In this, the seat of the first round can also be upgraded. In this round, Security Money will have to be deposited which will be Rs.10,000/- for UR/OBC Category – Rs.10,000/- for Government College, Rs.5,000/- for SC/ST/EWS Category, and Rs.1,00,000/- for all categories for Private College. (one lakh). All these types of candidates who have deposited Security Money have to fill the choice again for the second round. Seat allotment happens online in the second round also. If you get a seat in the second round, then you have to take admission on the allotted seat, otherwise, you can participate in the Mop Up round, but the security money deposited by you will be forfeit. After the seat allotment, you have to go to the DME Tripura office, take the allotment letter from there, and then take admission to college.

Mop-up round of counseling 

Fresh registration will not be opened in this round. Candidates who have not gotten seat allotment in the first round and second rounds, that candidate is eligible for it. Those who have got a seat allotted in the first round and second round and have joined are not eligible for this round, but if not joined on the allotted seat then security money is forfeited and further eligible for Mop Up round counseling. The mop-up round is offline (physical), that is, the candidate has to be present. This offline counseling takes place in Agartala Government Medical College. After this, admission is given to the vacant seat according to the merit and candidate’s choice.

  1. Candidates must have completed their senior secondary from the Science stream.
  2. Students must have Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as their compulsory subjects along with a minimum aggregate score of 50% to apply for Tripura MBBS Admission.
  3. Candidates have to clear the NEET 2024 Exam.
  4. Candidates must be at least 17 years of age to seek Tripura MBBS Admission.
