The Arunachal Pradesh Directorate of Higher & Technical Education is important for maintaining higher education and technical institutions in the state. It handles the admission process and counseling for different professional courses, such as medical education. Arunachal Pradesh has only one government medical college, namely Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun, which provides 50 MBBS seats every year. Approved by Rajiv Gandhi University, TRIHMS is also a 500-bed hospital, offering quality medical education and healthcare services. The Directorate of Higher & Technical Education facilitates a hassle-free admission process and maintains the educational standards of the state.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must have completed their 10+2 (Higher Secondary) from a recognized board.
  • They must have pursued the Science stream, with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as core subjects.
  • All students are required to take the NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). In all MBBS, Dental and AYUSH courses, there is strictly no admission without passing NEET test.
  • The minimum qualifying marks in the NEET should be obtained as per the marks prescribed by the authorities for candidates belonging to particular categories such as General, SC/ST/OBC, etc.
  • Admission under the Management Quota in Private Medical, Dental, and AYUSH colleges is also open to candidates of other states who are not domiciled in West Bengal.
  • Candidates should have an age of 17 years or above at the time of admission. The upper age limit will follow the NEET guidelines.

Counseling Procedure

How do you take admission for the state quota?

The Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Itanagar will get the online application form link for MBBS and BDS admission after the result of NEET 2024. The option of applying online will be available. After filling out the online form on the website www.apdhte.nic.in, submit it. Registration fees for Category – I is Rs. 500/- and for Category – II is Rs. 750/-.  The Directorate of Higher & Technical Education Itanagar gives admission by conducting offline first-round, second-round, and spot-round counseling.

  • NEET hall ticket or admit card-2024
  • NEET score card
  • MBBS Admission application form in the prescribed format
  • Downloaded print of Provisional Allotment Order in 3 copies
  • Date of birth certificate
  • Provisional seat allotment letter
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • Prepaid fee receipt
  • Class 10th mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Class 12th mark sheet and passing certificate
  • Character certificate issued by recently attended school or college
  • Copy of Aadhar Card.
