Directorate of Health Services Manipur

The Directorate of Health Services Manipur is the executive head of the health department of Manipur and they are responsible for planning, monitoring, budgeting, expenditure booking, organizing, and implementing various health care services, and national health programs. Among the North-Eastern States, the State boasts one of the highest per capita rates of healthcare professionals.

It is home to two tertiary healthcare facilities (two medical colleges: RIMS and JNIMS, along with their associated hospitals), and has 7 district hospitals (located in 9 districts within the State). Additionally, there are 26 registered private hospitals and nursing homes operating under the ‘Manipur Nursing Home and Clinic Registration Act, 1992.’

Counseling Procedure

After the result of NEET 2024, the prospectus and schedule for MBBS and BDS state quota admission will be issued by the Manipur Health Directorate. Its website is http://www.manipurhealthdirectorate.in/ and an online application form has to be filled out there. In this, admission is given by Manipur Health Direct by conducting first-round counseling, second-round counseling, and mop-up round counseling offline mode (Physical). The fee for filling out its application form is Rs.650/- for General/OBC and Rs.400/- for SC/ST.

First Round of Counseling at Directorate of Health Services Manipur

This round of counseling is conducted in online mode, and in this round, counseling is done for all the vacant seats of all government and private medical colleges of state quota as per the provisional merit list. If a candidate has been allotted a seat in the first round of counseling, then they have to go to the allotted College and complete all the formalities. 

The seats of the candidates can be upgraded in the next round at the Directorate of Health Services Manipur if they wish to get upgraded. If the candidate is satisfied with this allotment and does not want to upgrade their seat further, then at the time of admission, they will have to fill out a status retention form in the college, after that, they will not be considered for the upgrade in the next rounds. 

If the candidate does not get a seat in the first round at Directorate of Health Services Manipur, then you will have to wait for the second round.

Second round of counseling 

The second round of counseling is done to fill the vacant seats after the first round of counseling. This round is also conducted in online mode. The seats of the first round can also be upgraded in this round. 

If the candidate has joined the seat in the second round of MCC, then they cannot participate in the second round. If the candidate does not get a seat allotted even in this round, then they have to wait for the Mop Up round.

Mop up Round 1,2 of Counseling

This counseling will be conducted to fill the vacant seats after the second round at Directorate of Health Services Manipur. This counseling will be conducted online.

Mop-up round 2 is conducted for the seats of all Government/Private colleges that are vacant in Mop-up round 1. 

This is the last round for private medical colleges.

After this round, to fill the vacant seats of MBBS/BDS in Government Colleges, these seats are filled by conducting mop-up rounds 3,4,5,6,7. ……… by the counseling authority.

  • Character certificate issued by the recently attended school or college

FAQ’s

The eligibility criteria for MBBS admissions in Manipur:

  • The candidate must fulfill the local or non-local status in Manipur (residential requirement) as per the rules laid down by the Manipur Government.
  • The candidate must have passed their 10+2 examination or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany, Zoology)/Biotechnology, and English as compulsory subjects.
  • The candidates must have passed NEET UG-2024.
  • The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as of December 31, 2024.
