BNYS is also termed a Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Science, which is a 5.5-year undergraduate degree course that focuses on naturopathy and the use of yoga in treating bodily ailments. It is essential for the students to complete one year of mandatory internship after completing the 4.5-year UG course. Naturopathy can also be called an alternative medicine that does not use drugs or medicines to heal or prevent. Thus, it is often non-invasive and also non-prescriptive

AIM of BNYS 

  • It effectively integrate the conventional basic sciences like human physiology with the traditional medical systems and increase the understanding of their effects and therapeutic potential.
  • To provide state-of-the-art learning facilities to conceptualize the ancient medical system;
  • To run advanced laboratories under each department for effective experimental training and research.

Eligibility Criteria 

Following the eligibility criteria is required to pursue the course: 

  • Candidates should have cleared their class 12 board exams, preferably in the science stream, with an average aggregate score of 50% and above from a recognized board. 
  • Admissions to BNYS courses are done on the basis of merit as well as entrance exams like NEET UG, which is conducted by the NTA. Some of the top BNYS colleges are Banaras Hindu University and Govt. Naturopathy & Yoga Medical College.
  • Candidates should complete 17 years of age on or before 31st December at the time of admission but have not crossed the age of 25 years as on that date, are eligible to apply.
