Yenepoya Medical College is established in 1999 and allied with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Bangalore, Yenepoya Medical College initially enrolled 100 MBBS students, the school later expanded its curriculum to include undergraduate courses in 7 departments from 2005 and currently 20 departments. In 2009, the college was granted the college status of Yenepoya University, which was recognized as a university under the UGC Act, of 1956. The building also has 234 beds to support its medical facilities.
