The Directorate of Medical Education is a government body that works under the Department of Health and Family Welfare in the Chhattisgarh government. It was established in 2000. There are around 13 medical colleges,6 dental colleges, and more than 125 nursing colleges along with some physiotherapy colleges under the administration of the Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh. The courses offered by DME, Chattisgarh are MBBS and BSc. , MD, MS, etc.

Eligibility criteria

  • The candidate must be an Indian citizen.
  • The candidate must not be less than 17 years of age.
  • Candidates must have passed their class 12 from the Chhattisgarh board or any other recognized board will be eligible. Such candidates must have physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and English as their core subjects.
  • The domicile criteria mentioned below should be fulfilled by the candidate: 
  1. The candidate should be born in Chhattisgarh.
  2. Candidates or their parent(s) should be a resident of the state for at least 5 years.
  3. The parent of the candidate must be an employee of the Chhattisgarh or Central Government and must be living in the state where the candidate whose parents are residents of the state must fulfill the below-mentioned criteria.
  1. Candidates must have pursued a minimum of three years of their education from an institution located in the state of undivided Madhya Pradesh.
  2. Those candidates who have not passed their class 8 from the state must appear in PSU of the same and must complete graduation from the state.
  3. To be eligible for CG NEET admission 2023 must complete their Class 11 and 12 from a state-recognized University or Board.
  4. The candidate must have studied until Class 5 in Chhattisgarh state.

Counseling procedure

How do you take admission for the state quota? 

After the results of NEET 2024, the admission prospectus for MBBS/BDS admissions will be released by the Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh. Registration fees are Rs. 1000 / – for UR / OBC and Rs 500 / – for SC / ST. The first round and the Second round of Counseling are online. Mop Up Round Counseling is Offline. Its website is https://cgdme.co.in. Registration will be opened at the time of the first round of counseling. Fresh registration will not be opened in the second and mop rounds.

First Round of Counseling

The first round of counseling is done in online mode. The first round is a free exit round. After registration, the choices have to be filled by the candidate after that the seat allotment will be done. There is no security deposit at the time of the first round of counseling. 

If a seat has been allotted to the candidate in the first round then they have to join the seat after getting their documents verified. 

If the candidate wishes to get their seat upgraded in the second round, then after taking the admission they have to pay the security deposit and then their seat will be upgraded in the second round. 

If the candidate’s seat gets upgraded in the second round of allotment then they will have to take admission to the allotted seat in the Second round.

Second round of counseling

Registration in the second round will not be opened again. Those who have not had a seat allotted in the first round and allotted but have not joined or whom the seat was allotted and want to upgrade in the Second Round, then all these candidates will have to deposit Security Money for Government – 10,000 / – Rupees, SC / ST / OBC Category – Rs 5,000 / – and will be Rs.1,00,000 / – for all category for Private College.

All of these types of candidates who have security money deposits have to make choices to fill them again from the Second round. seat allotment is online in the Second round. If a candidate has been allotted a seat in the second round but not reported at the allotted college then the security amount will be forfeited. If a candidate has been allotted a seat in the second round then after the document verification he/she has to join on the allotted seat.

Mop up round of counseling

A mop-up round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats. Candidates who have not been allotted any seat in the first and second rounds of counseling, those candidates are eligible for the Mop Up round counseling. Those who have been allotted seats in the first round and second round are not eligible for this round. Mop-up round is offline (physical), i.e. the candidate has to be present, online. Fresh registration is not open even in this round but eligible candidates must fill the choice. If a candidate has been allotted a seat in the Mop Up round then after document verification you have to join on the allotted seat.

Stray vacancy round

Even after the mop-up round, some seats remain vacant, they are filled by the concerned Medical/Dental College. The counseling authority will issue a 10-time list. This list is the name of those candidates, who have not got any seat yet. According to the same list, admission is given by the concerned Medical/Dental College on the vacant seat according to merit. For this, you have to be in touch with the website of Concerned College.

Ans. The Documents required at the time of counseling are the following :

  1. Domicile certificate issued by the competent authority (Only students for Chhattisgarh state)
  2. Class 10 Mark sheet
  3. NEET UG scorecard 2024
  4. Class 12 Mark sheet
  5. OBC Certificate with Income certificate required for OBC aspirants only (Only students for Chhattisgarh state)
  6. NEET Admit Card 2024
  7. Caste certificate, if applicable (Only students for Chhattisgarh state)
  8. PWD certificate, if applicable
  9. Sainik / Freedom Fighter certificate, if applicable

Ans. Yes, the security that is to be deposited by the candidates is  Refundable. The security amount is applicable from the second round of counseling onwards.

Ans. Yes, seat leaving bond and service bond are applicable for admission under medical courses in Chhattisgarh.
