Baba Farid University of Health Sciences was established in 1998 under the act passed by the legislature of the state of Punjab. The university offers four faculties: the Faculty of Medical Science, the Faculty of Dental sciences, the Faculty of Nursing Sciences, and the Faculty of Physiotherapy. There are around 160 colleges affiliated with Baba Farid University of Health Sciences.

Counselling Procedure

How do you take admission for the state quota?

Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot will issue the prospectus and schedule for admission to the MBBS/BDS course after the NEET 2024 results.  The admission will be given by the counseling for the first round, second round,mop-up round, and stray round. The website for Punjab admission counseling is https://bfuhs.ac.in/mbbs_bds/mbbsbds.asp and the candidates must fill out the application form there. After filling out the application form, the schedule for document verification will be issued by the authorities on the website itself. Once the document verification is done the provisional merit list will be issued by the authority. Then the candidates have to fill in the choices accordingly. The security money of Rs. 10,000/- for government colleges and Rs.1,00,000/- for private colleges is to be deposited.  

First Round Counseling:-

The first round of counseling is done in an online mode. After the registration, the choices have to be filled by the candidate. After the choice filing a provisional merit list is issued by the admission authority and the seats will be allotted according to the candidate’s choice.  

If the candidate gets a seat allotted in the first round of counseling then after that the online fee payment has to be done on the portal and after going to the allotted college and submitting the documents all the admission formalities will be done and completed. 

The candidate wants to get their seats upgraded which they have been allotted in the first round then for the upgrade they have to select “yes’ ‘ and participate in the second round of counseling. If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat they must select ‘No” and they will not be considered for the next rounds of counseling. 

The first round is an exit round. After the seat allotment in the first round, it is not necessary to join it. If the candidate does not get a seat in the first round, they will have to wait till the second round. Other state candidates who are willing to be admitted to management quota seats in private colleges can register in the first round itself. Their allotment will be done in the second round. 

Second Round Counseling:-

The second round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the first round of counseling. The candidates who have joined in the first round will be given the choice if they want to participate in the second round of counseling or not. New registrations will not be opened in this round. In the second round, new registration can only be done for the seats that are transferred from MCC to AIQ. The candidates who are residing in Punjab and who had not registered earlier can register in these AIQ vacant seats. This registration will not be opened for the state quota seats. 

This round of counseling is also done in the online mode. Candidates who want to get their seats upgraded after the first round of counseling can get their seats upgraded in this round. All the candidates must make their choices again. If the candidate has joined the seat in the second round of MCC then they are not eligible to participate in the second round. If the candidate does not get any seat allotted in this round too then they have to wait till the mop-up round. After the seat allotment, the admission formalities are the same as the first round of counseling. In this, the rest of the rules will be applicable as the second round of MCC, the candidates from other states are eligible for this round. “Non-domicile candidates shall be considered during 2nd round counseling after exhausting Punjab State Candidates.”

Mop Up round Counseling:-

This round of counseling is done to fill the vacant seats after the second round of counseling. This allotment process is online.

The Eligibility for MopUp Round of Counseling is as follows: 

The candidates who need to apply afresh for the MopUp Round of counseling (These candidates have to pay a registration fee and security deposit at the time of submission of willingness as per rules)

  • The candidates who are registering for the first time.
  • The candidates who have resigned/surrendered the allotted seat of 1st online Counseling and exit with forfeiture of fee can apply afresh for MopUp Round.
  • The candidates who have not joined the allotted seat of 2nd online Counseling and exit with forfeiture of fee can apply afresh for MopUp Round. The candidates who need not apply afresh for the MopUp Round of counseling (These candidates have to

submit willingness only).

  • The candidates who are already registered but have not been allotted any seat in Rounds I and II.

Under the following cases, the candidate will not be Not eligible for the MopUp Round of counseling: 

  • The candidates who are holding/joined the allotted seats of Round I and Round II. Fee to be deposited for MopUp Round For candidates applying afresh.
  • For registration, the candidate has to deposit a fee of @Rs. 5000/-(2500/-for SC)+ 18% GST for applying application Form through the online payment gateway of the University.
  • For willingness the following security amount to be deposited through the online payment gateway of the University or in the shape of a Demand Draft favoring Registrar, BFUHS payable at Faridkot: Amount to be depositedWillingness to be considered. 10000/-For Govt. Colleges Rs. 100000/-For Govt. & Private Colleges.

For already registered candidates who have not submitted willingness and are eligible for the Mop-up round:

  • The following security amount is to be deposited through the online payment gateway of the University or in the shape of a Demand Draft. Amount to be deposited. Willingness to be considered Rs. 10000/-For Govt. Colleges Rs. 100000/-For Govt. & Private Colleges.

For already registered candidates who have already submitted willingness for Govt colleges only and now want to change their preference and are eligible for Mop-up round.

  • The remaining security amount i.e. Rs 90000/-to is deposited through the online payment gateway of the University or in the shape of a Demand Draft. Already registered candidates who are eligible for the mop-up round and have already paid the security amount as per their preference need not pay again.

Stray vacancy round Counseling :-

The stray round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the mop-up round of counseling.  The candidates who did not get the seat in the previous round are eligible for this round. Candidates who joined till the Mop Up round are not eligible for this.

The Eligibility for Stray Vacancy Round of Counseling is as follows: 

  • All registered candidates except the candidates who are holding/joined the allotted seat of Round I & Round II and allotted a seat in MopUp Round.

The candidates who are not eligible for the Stray Vacancy round of counseling:

  • The candidates who have been allotted a seat in the MopUp Round.
  • The candidates who are holding/joined the allotted seats of Round I/Round II/MopUp Round.

Note: Tuition Fee during the Stray Vacancy Round will be collected in the shape of a Demand Draft, favoring Registrar, BFUHS, Faridkot payable at Faridkot on the spot.
