Established in 1946, Gajra Raja Medical College in Gwalior is recognized as India\’s 17th-best Medical College and a pioneering institution in Madhya Pradesh. The college has an annual intake of 150 MBBS, 68 postgraduate, and 36 diploma students. It is affiliated with the Jaya Arogya Group of Hospitals, which features 1100 beds and several modern amenities. Governed by the G R Medical College Society under the Department of Medical Education, Government of Madhya Pradesh, the college is affiliated with Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, Jabalpur, and is recognized by the Medical Council of India.
Conceived by Dr. Bhagwat Sahai in 1942, the college\’s foundation was laid by Lord Wavell, the Viceroy of India, and inaugurated by Maharaja Jiwaji Rao Scindia in 1946. The institution\’s growth began with the addition of Kamla Raja Hospital in 1952 and the commencement of postgraduate training in various fields.
