Counseling procedure

How do you take admission for the state quota?

The prospectus for the MBBS and BDS admissions will be issued by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) around 15 days after the NEET 2024 results and the online registration has to be done there.

The candidate can check the official website that is https://bceceboard.bihar.gov.in/ for all the updates regarding the admissions. The registration fees for the UR/BC/EBC are Rs.1200/- and Rs.600/- for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/DQ. In this counseling procedure, admission is given by the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) by conducting the first round of counseling, the second round of counseling, and the mop-up round of counseling.

This counseling process is different as the registration and choice filling is done in the first round of counseling itself, there is no chance of registration and choice filling in the second round.

For the mop-up round, a fresh registration has to be done, and those who registered in the first and second rounds can also register in the mop-up round. The security money is also not deposited in the first and second rounds.

First Round Counseling:-

The first round of counseling is done online mode and the first round is not a free exit round. To download the Provisional Allotment Order, a candidate must indicate their wish for an upgrade for the next round of counseling if they were given a seat in the first round and are unhappy with the college and branch they were assigned.

An applicant will not be considered for the next counseling round if he or she does not indicate that they would like to advance to the following one. The name and date of reporting to the nodal center for the document verification will be mentioned in the provisional letter downloaded by the candidate according to that the candidate has to go to the respective nodal center to get their documents verified.

If any candidate fails to get their documents verified by the due date they will be considered ineligible for the next round and the allotted seat will be considered vacant. If any candidate does not get any seat allocated in the first round they will have to wait for the next round of counseling.

If the candidate has expressed his desire for Upgradation for the next round and after getting his Document Verification done by going to the Reporting / Nodal Center, if he is willing to enroll in his allotted institute, then submit his original certificate to the concerned reporting / nodal center.

You can enroll or take back the signed Document Verification Slip with your original certificate and in the next round you can take all the original certificates along with the signed Document Verification at the designated Reporting / Nodal Center for enrollment on the allotted seat. It will be necessary to bring a slip.

Second Round Counseling:

The second round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the first round of counseling. Round 2 is done in an online mode. If the candidate has joined the seat in the second round of MCC then they cannot participate in the second round of counseling of Bihar state.

The fresh registration will not be done in the second round of counseling; the seats will be allotted based on the choices filled in the first round of counseling. In this round, the seat of the first round can also be upgraded.

Mop-up round counseling:-

This round of counseling is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the second round of counseling. This round is conducted in offline mode which means that the candidate has to be present at the time of the counseling. In this, admission is given on the spot on vacant seats according to the merit and choices of the candidate.

In this round, only the candidates who have not been allotted seats in the first and second rounds can participate. The candidates who have already been admitted elsewhere in India, then they are not eligible for counseling for this mop-up round.

For the mop-up round, the candidates have to do fresh registration by paying registration fees.

If in this round a candidate gets a seat in a government medical/dental college, then the document verification will be done on the same day and tuition fees will have to be deposited.

If the candidate wishes to be admitted to a private medical college, then they have to take a DD of Rs. 12 lakh. For admission to a private dental college, a DD of Rs. 50,000/- has to be carried. If the candidate gets a private medical/dental college seat allotted then the document verification will be done on the same day and this DD will have to be submitted.

Stray Vacancy Round Counseling:

The stray round is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the mop-up round of MBBS/BDS counseling. These seats are filled by the counseling authority only. The seats left vacant after the Mop-up round of MBBS of Private Medical College will be transferred to the concerned college and these seats shall be filled by the college itself.
