Uttar Pradesh is an open state which means that the government seats are allotted to the residents of Uttar Pradesh and other state candidates can be admitted in the private colleges of UP. There are 34 government medical colleges and 31 private medical colleges in Uttar Pradesh. There are in total 3828 MBBS seats in government colleges of Uttar Pradesh out of which 572 seats are under the all-India quota, 21 seats under the central pool quota, and 3235 seats under the state quota. There are a total of 5250 MBBS seats in 31 private medical colleges.
