The candidates whose parents are working in a private company, factory, government department, or such institutions in which 10 or more than 10 employees work such as hotels, restaurants, road motor transport, private hospitals, and educational institutions, etc., then they are insured under the ESIC scheme is deposited then they are called as an insured person i.e. IP. Hospitals that are made for treating these insured persons are called ESIC hospitals, and the medical colleges associated with these hospitals are called ESIC medical colleges. There is an ESI quota in these ESIC Medical Colleges Students whose parents are deducted State Insurance and who have ESIC ID cards are eligible for ESIC quota. Candidates must find out if their parents are also insured under the ESIC scheme so they can have the advantage of this quota.
ESIC has 11 medical colleges in India and the admission in these colleges is done based on the NEET score of the candidates. Three types of quotas are as follows:
a) All India Quota– In this quota all the students are eligible.
b) ESI Quota– In this only the wards of the Insured Person are eligible, who have Ward of IP Certificate.
c) State Quota- For this, only the candidates residing in the state where there is ESIC College are eligible.
