Government Medical College Barmer In 1992, the GMC Barmer, started its journey within a section of the ESI Hospital in Kota, under the leadership of Dr. R.L. Ajmera as its principal. In 1997, it transitioned to its expansive campus. Initially, MBS Hospital and JayKay Lon served as the allied hospitals, and later, NMC Hospital became the new addition to the GMC Barmer.
Initially, the college had 50 MBBS seats, but this number was expanded to 250 starting from the 2019 batch. In addition to MBBS, the GMC Barmer also initiated programs in MD/MS and super-specialty fields.
