OPEN/CLOSE State Details 2025

The state quotas’ official NEET Open or Close State Details 2025 have not yet been made public. These details are usually released following the conclusion of the NEET UG counseling procedure, which is administered by the state counseling authority for state quota seats and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

Description of OPEN or CLOSE STATE DETAILS 2025

There are ten regions in India without private medical colleges, five closed states, and eighteen open states. Understanding this is just as crucial for NEET UG 2025 preparation as doing well on the test. Many students just consider grades and rankings, but they frequently fail to consider how state counseling regulations may have an immediate effect on admission. Your prospects of being accepted into a private MBBS or BDS college, even with a respectable NEET score, mostly depend on whether the state accepts non-domicile applicants.

The state-specific counseling policy—more especially, whether a state is an Open State or a Closed State for admission to private medical colleges—is that factor.

  • Students proceed to the counseling step following the announcement of the NEET results. At this point, seats for medical and dental care are distributed according to your NEET score, category, and preferences. There are two stages of counseling in India:

  • 15% of each state’s government medical seats are covered under the All India Quota (AIQ). Candidates from any Indian state may apply for these seats.

  • Nearly all private college seats and the remaining 85% of government college seats are covered by state quota counseling. Here, however, eligibility requirements begin to diverge significantly.
