The union territory Jammu and Kashmir is not included in the all-India quota i.e. 15%, because of this only the candidates from Jammu and Kashmir can be admitted in all the government seats, while candidates from other states cannot be admitted.
The candidates of Jammu and Kashmir can also not be admitted in other state government seats under the 15% All India quota seats. However, these candidates are eligible to be admitted to AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, and AMU.
There are in total of 1,185 MBBS seats in 10 government medical colleges and a total of 100 MBBS seats in 1 private medical college.
