On 23 July, the Supreme Court of India rightly disallowed the cancellation of NEET UG 2024 examination after affirmation of paper leak. The court observed that there was no proof of a paper leak anywhere in Hazaribagh and Patna and directed the National Testing Agency in accordance with the clarified answer.

Arguments were heard in the matter over four days by the bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra, who emphasized the serious consequences of a re-test for more than 2 million students. It is the CBI’s final examination results that the Court is waiting for to conclude whether the accused will get away or not. The bench-led judgment balanced decency with consideration for the implications on medical education and the students.

It emerged from a report led by IIT Delhi on the NEET physics question where two options seemed right. It turned out that two were the common choices. Hence, no four was tampered with.

Appropriately, the seat recommends the renunciation of the laudatory marks, and they give four marks of appreciation to the candidate who has stamped answer No. 4 and sharp grades of spurnings to the candidates who have produced any other response.

There is some credibility to the NEET counseling 2024 may start by July-end.
