Centralized Admission Committee, Pondicherry

The centralized admission committee, Pondicherry is the committee that is responsible for conducting state-level admissions for different courses in Pondicherry. The CENTAC conducts the counseling for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/B.V.Sc. and A.H. admissions to various government and private colleges. This authority conducts the counseling for 85% of quota seats in MBBS, BAHS, B.V.Sc. A.H. and BDS colleges. 

Eligibility criteria 

  1. Candidates must have passed their 10+2 examination or equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  2. Candidates must have studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology, Zoology, Botany, and English as their compulsory subjects. 
  3. Candidates must score a
  4.  minimum of 50% marks (40% marks in case of reserved category) to seek Pondicherry MBBS Admission 2024. 
  5. Candidates who are Indian nationals and residents of Puducherry can apply for Pondicherry MBBS Admission 2024.

Counseling procedure

How do you take admission for the state quota?

The admission prospectus for MBBS/BDS will be issued by the centralized admission committee after the NEET 2024 results. Its website is https://www.centacpuducherry.in/ and an online application form has to be filled out there. In this, admission is given by CENTAC by conducting first-round counseling, second-round counseling, and mop-up round counseling online.

First Round of counseling 

The first round of counseling is conducted in online mode and it is a free exit round. If a candidate has been allotted a seat in the first round and does not join it, then he will be eligible for the counseling of further rounds (Second, mop-up round).

The second round of counseling 

In this round, the security money will be deposited. If a candidate has been allotted a seat in the second round and he does not join it, then his registration fee will be forfeiture but will be eligible for counseling in the Mop Up round. If a candidate gets a seat allot in the second round and he joins on it and leaves after joining, then his registration fee will become forfeiture and will not be eligible for Mop Up round counseling. 

Mop up round of counseling 

This round is conducted to fill the vacant seats after the first and second rounds of counseling. This round is also conducted in online mode. The candidate who has been allotted a seat till the second round and joins on the allotted seat and then he will not be eligible for the Mop Up round. Unfilled minority seats will be converted to management quota and firstly should be offered to Pondicherry domiciled candidates. In case there are not enough Pondicherry candidates then they can be offered to all Indian candidates.

  2. NEET 2024 Rank Card
  3. 10th MarkSheet & Certificate
  4. 12th MarkSheet & Certificate
  5. Category certificate (if applicable)
  6. Domicile certificate
  7. PH certificate (if applicable)
  8. Character certificate
  9. Passport size photographs
  10. Printout of the registration form
  11. Photo Identity proof such as Voter ID, Aadhar, PAN card, etc.

Ans. Candidates seeking admission to the MBBS/BDS Degree courses must have passed the H.Sc (Academic)examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent to it, with a minimum of 50% marks (40% of marks for OBC/BCM/MBC/EBC/BT/SC/ ST candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biotechnology, Botany and Zoology. Further, they should have studied English as one of the subjects and must have passed the above four subjects individually.
